Babywoods!
Babywoods!

Mr. Frugalwoods and I are beyond thrilled to announce that our daughter Babywoods was born healthy and happy on Monday, November 30; clocking in at 7 pounds, 3 ounces and 19.5 inches long.

Mr. FW, Babywoods, and I are all doing well and are simply delighted to share this news with you all. Many thanks for your outpouring of good wishes and kind words–we greatly appreciate all of your support!

While we’re acclimating to the rigors–and joys–of parenthood, I have a slate of delightful guest posts lined up for your reading pleasure here on Frugalwoods.

The personal finance community came out in force to support Mr. FW and me during this time of great sleep-deprivedness and sheer jubilation, for which I’m tremendously grateful. You’ll be hearing from the likes of 1500 Days to Freedom, Root of Good, Budget Blonde… and many more of my personal finance and financial independence favorites!

Fear not, I’ll check-in with Babywoods updates periodically, but Mr. FW and I plan to take this time as a true parental leave in order to bond with our daughter and get our bearings in this new iteration of our lives.

So, please excuse our period of silence from email, social media, and the blog. But don’t worry, we’ll be back soon enough. I wish you all a wonderful holiday season and I can’t wait to share our stories (and mishaps) of frugal parenting!

Cheers and love,

Mr. & Mrs. Frugalwoods, Frugal Hound, and Babywoods!

  21. Yeah!!! Thrilled that she made a safe arrival.
I personally think November 30th is the best birthday (ahem, it might also be my birthday!)
Enjoy this time with your beautiful girl!

  22. Look at that squishy little face. Congratulations to the Frugalwoods family!
And make sure you’re paying attention to Frugal Hound–pets often get ignored when a baby arrives and if it’s used to being the center of attention there could be trouble (gives virtual skritches to the Hound).

  23. Congratulations and well done! Monday’s child is meant to be fair of face… my own Monday child, now 9 definitely fits that description! I have been – this is actually quite tragic – stalking to hear the news and I’m so glad she didn’t go way overdue and make you lose your mind (ask me how I know about this…). You are at the start of a real rollercoaster and should feel no guilt about switching off completely from us lot and just focusing on your little family (including Frugalhound, who is of course your first child, your fur child, precious thing). When you feel exhausted and worn out, just remember it absolutely 100% does get easier and better and colic / random screaming / no sleep / whatever passes in the twinkling of an inkling. All the best xxxx

  24. Congratulations to both of you. What a beautiful gift! Enjoy your time off, don’t even think of touching that keyboard. Everyone in your community is so very very happy for you both, and Frugalhound as well. Keep an eye out for jealousy there! Enjoy!

  25. If ever she gets cranky, sing to her – especially with her ear on your chest. Just a low, murmuring
singing sound. Really comfortss them. Congrats!

  26. Congratulations! My wife and I are expecting in May and I’m excited and terrified all at the same time. Enjoy your new addition!

  30. Yay Mrs Frugalwoods! It is a massive job to make a whole baby and I can see you are excellent at this. I wish for you and little Miss FW the gift of sleep as she adjusts to life on the outside and you rest and restore yourself for the job ahead. Mr FW, it’s time for you to spoil your beautiful wife as she performs yet another miracle and provides for the nourishment of little Miss FW. Felicitations to all! Life is good, isn’t it, Frugal Hound?

  49. God bless all of you on your frugal journey together-she is beautiful, I never expected to see her face-so glad we are able to.

  50. Congrats… there are no words for such a gift.

My son was born this past January and the year I’ve just had was unlike any I would have expected. What you want out of life just seems to crystallize when you’ve got someone looking up to you for support.

Enjoy your time with Babywoods, it truly flies.

  53. Congratulations! What a gorgeous wee thing Babywoods is!
I’m a new reader here, loving your blog (and in particular your polite, pleasant replies to comments).
My little girl was born on the 12th November – very close in age!

  54. Hello! I really enjoy your blog! I am hoping that you will make a post about the cost of childcare. In my experience, the cost of daycare is by far the greatest cost involved in being working parents. You can avoid if you have amazingly available grandparents, but those are hard to find. I would love to hear about your exploration of this topic!
